What Should You Wear for Newborn Photos?

You don’t need to buy anything new for your newborn session — a few simple choices go a long way.

For Baby

Nothing is required. Wraps, headbands, and neutral setups are provided in the studio, so baby’s part is entirely taken care of. If you have a family heirloom — a special blanket or a tiny outfit that’s meaningful to you — feel free to bring it along and we can incorporate it.

For Parents and Siblings

Simple, comfortable outfits in soft, coordinating colors photograph best. Think neutrals, muted tones, or gentle pastels rather than bright colors, busy patterns, or clothing with large logos or text, which tend to pull focus away from baby. You don’t need to match exactly — coordinating is enough. Comfort matters too, since sessions run a couple of hours and you’ll want to feel relaxed, not stiff in something new.

When in doubt, keep it simple. The goal is for the focus to stay on your baby and your family’s connection, not on the outfits.
