I offer flexibility in location. Common options include:
Outdoor settings around Glenwood City (parks, trails, fields, scenic overlooks)
At your home (inside or around your yard) for a more lifestyle/documentary feel
For indoor sessions (rain days or cooler months), we can use well-lit indoor spaces (your home, or a suitable indoor venue).
If there is a special place meaningful to your family (a favorite park, family land, a lake, etc.), just ask — I’ll do my best to accommodate.
Mini Sessions are held at my home studio in Emerald, WI.
For outdoor sessions, I prefer to shoot during “golden hour” (shortly after sunrise or just before sunset) because the natural light is soft and flattering.
In summer, sunset is late, so early evening works; in fall or spring, session times shift earlier.
For in-home sessions, scheduling is more flexible (but I still prefer to use natural light, so mid-day to late afternoon works well).
I encourage booking ahead, especially for fall, because my calendar fills up.
Typically, family sessions run 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the number of people, locations, and how much movement or variety you want.
We’ll plan enough time for posed group shots, parent/child combinations, and plenty of candid moments.
Choose clothes you feel comfortable in and that reflect your family’s style.
Avoid overly busy patterns or logos that distract from faces, transition lenses, hats, and polos.
Coordinate colors (not matching exactly): pick a color palette (neutrals, earth tones, soft pastels, etc.).
Layering works well (jackets, scarves) for visual interest.
For in-home sessions: softer, lighter colors tend to photograph more naturally.
If needed, I can provide a style guide to help you plan outfits.
No worries — this is very common. Some strategies we use:
Starting with fun, low-stress prompts (walking, playing, exploring) rather than rigid poses.
Giving breaks, letting kids move between structured and candid moments.
Planning flexibility into the session.
I’m experienced working with children of all temperaments and know how to ease into things. Both of my children are on the spectrum and my youngest has ADHD so I have experience with sensory needs as well.
My goal is not perfection — it’s capturing real, honest moments, even the imperfect ones.
If outdoor weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll either:
Reschedule for another date/time
Move to an indoor location (your home or another suitable spot).
We’ll stay in communication in the days before the session and make the best call together.
Depends on my editing schedule; usually, you’ll get the full edited gallery in one week.
Minimum 25 images in both color and black/white.
Yes, I travel throughout the surrounding area within a 30 minute driving distance of New Richmond, WI.
If your location is beyond my standard radius, a modest travel fee may apply (for driving time / mileage). We can discuss what works best.
No, I do not.
