Book your newborn photography session in advance.

To secure your preferred time slot and ensure availability, it’s advisable to book your session well in advance—ideally during your second trimester. After your baby is born we can reschedule to a different day if needed.

Communicate Your Vision for your newborn photos.

Before the session, take the time to discuss your preferences and vision with me. Share any specific themes, color schemes, or props you have in mind. This collaboration ensures that your photographs will reflect your style and preferences.

Choose the Right Time

Newborns are typically more cooperative during the first two weeks of life when they sleep for longer periods Schedule your session accordingly to capture those sleepy and curled-up moments that define the newborn stage. The best time of day to choose for booking your newborn session is the morning after your newborn has had the night for as much rest as possible.

Be Prepared

Pack necessities like extra diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes for both you and your baby. Patience is key, as your little one’s comfort and needs will dictate the pace of the session. I am a baby-led photographer which means if a baby would like to eat we stop the session to eat.

Select Comfortable Outfits

When choosing outfits for your newborn, prioritize comfort over fashion. I often recommend simple, neutral-colored clothing to keep the focus on your baby’s natural beauty. Bring a few outfit options to allow for variety in the photographs. If you are coming to my studio I do have a couple of outfits you can use.

Create a Relaxing Environment

To help your newborn feel calm and relaxed, I maintain a comfortable temperature in the studio and suggest bringing familiar items like a blanket or a soft toy. I strive to create a serene atmosphere conducive to capturing those peaceful and heartwarming moments.
